About the Mold&Bladder Unit Manager position

We are looking for someone who will lead, manage and coordinate all mold & bladder activities for continuous improvement of production efficiency in tire manufacturing, control processes to ensure optimal throughput efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.

You should be highly competent and comprehend complex operations. We also expect you to be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs.

M&B Unit Manager responsibilities are:

  • Actively support and drive a Safety Always Culture, a 5S workplace, consistent up, down, and across communication and continuous improvement as a way of work life
  • Manage human and material resources to meet TP’s target requirements
  • Maintain existing operating conditions and rapidly identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead, demonstrate, and enforce TP safety protocols, compliance/ regulatory requirements, reporting, administration, budgeting, supplier base, customer expectations, etc.
  • Establish, execute and monitor the Mold and bladder operation plan for plant expansion, drive continuous improvement
  • Lead the implementation of more efficient processes by focusing on opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor and assess performance of staff and hold staff to operational and leadership expectations; conduct performance appraisals; take immediate actions when underperformance is identified
  • Lead and manage staff, ensure responsibilities are understood, hold others accountable, ensure consistency and never accept the status quo as acceptable
  • Ensure efficient and effective collaboration between departmental suppliers and customers with regular communication and information
  • Develop training materials, organize and provide timely and relevant training utilizing methods to ensure understanding and immediate application
  • Manage budget and identify and drive cost control initiatives

Mold Inventory Management

  • Manage the Mold inventory system to ensure precision and operational effectiveness
    · Review inventory recorded in the system in comparison to the physical inventory, and elucidate the reasons for any variations found
    · Manage mold utilization in alignment with the team's comprehensive operational strategy

Mold Repair

  • Establish and implement mold handling and storage procedure for optimal maintenance conditions
  • Manage budget for mold repair costs, drive cost improvement activities
  • Manage and nurture client relationships with vendors for mold repair

Cleaning the Mold

  • Develop full understanding of operating conditions of mold cleaning equipment
  • Drive cost control initiatives through continuous improvement and productivity advancements of the mold cleaning procedure

Mold Inspection

  • Establish expectations for mold inspection process to ensure mold conditions are maintained
    Managing the Bladder
  • Develop full understanding of operating conditions for bladder to include warehousing procedures, ordering, specifications and nonconformities
  • Monitor and assess bladder performance and life cycle
  • Drive life cycle and cost improvement initiatives for bladder

M&B Unit Manager requirements are:

Education:

  • (Required) Bachelor's degree
  • (Preferred) Industrial Engineering major or advanced degree in a related field

Experience:

  • (Required) 5+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry
  • (Preferred) Several years of production engineering experience

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
  • Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
