Job Title: Manufacturing Operator
Department: Manufacturing Team
Shift: Nights 545pm-6am or Days 545am-6pm, 2-2-3 fixed schedule (Shift placement will be based on position availability)
Direct Report: Manufacturing Group Leader
Compensation: Starting range for qualified candidates is $17.00-$19.00/hr dependent on prior experience in a manufacturing environment with performance based step increases up to $23.20 top out (including $2.00/hr night-shift premium) in as early as 6-15 months.
About the Manufacturing Operator position
We are looking for a Manufacturing Operator to help us set up, maintain and operate machinery. Your duties will include ensuring the interminable running of production, maintaining the level of efficiency and quality, and collaborating with co-workers to help your team achieve high level of productivity.
You should be reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards, as well as willingness to learn and improve. We also expect you to be a good team player.
Manufacturing Operator responsibilities are:
- Operate a machine in order to produce quality materials
- Check the quality of products along the production process
- Observe 5S in order to improve the workplace and avoid errors
- Manage base materials using the FIFO (first in, first out) method
- Enter and locate data on a computer
- Read and interpret specifications and measuring devices
- Separate defective products; report to the immediate superior if any product or process nonconformity is detected
- Prepare machines to start a production cycle, performing calibration, cleaning and other activities
- Monitor and properly adjust machine settings
- Supply raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
- Check parts with precision, using appropriate measuring tools
- Conduct tests to check the operation of machines, on a regular basis
- Troubleshoot issues that might occur during the shift
- Verify output to detect any machine-related mistakes or flaws
- Create and manage records of approved and defective units or final products
- Create and maintain activity logs
- Adhere to health and safety regulations
Manufacturing Operator requirements are:
Education:
- (Required) High School Diploma or combination of experience and education
Experience:
- (Preferred) At least 1 year manufacturing experience
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; to reach with hands and arms; and to talk and hear
- Must be capable of climbing up and down a ladder/stairs several times per shift
- Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
- Mobility throughout the facility
- Employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, walk, or crouch
- Employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted on occasion
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus
